Ian Sample joins Steer Davies Gleave’s North American aviation team

Steer Davies Gleave is delighted to welcome our newest North American Aviation team member, Ian Sample.

Ian brings extensive experience in airport strategic planning, commercial forecasting and financial modeling. He has facilitated strategy development, organization evaluations, collaborative strategic design and outcome-based action planning for both small and large organizations. Through concession demand analysis, sales forecasting, parking and rental car demand, he has supported analyzing and forecasting commercial and non-aeronautical revenue for airports.

Ian has supported a number of commercial service airports throughout the US, Europe and Latin America. He has worked for airport managers, private concessioners and state transportation departments, giving him a systemic view of the aviation industry. Key projects include Airline Economic Impact Study for Hawaiian Airlines, a Comprehensive Strategic Plan for Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), Optimal Commercial Sizing Analysis for Portland International Airport as well as transaction support for multiple airport investors.

Ian joins us from the Aviation Consulting Group at ICF, where he worked primarily for airport managers on issues of governance, strategic planning and commercial revenues. Prior to joining ICF, Ian worked at Northeastern University at a research program within the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs.

Ian will work closely with Steve Van Beek, Director of North American Aviation. “Ian will help Steer Davies Gleave deliver high-quality, pragmatic solutions for our aviation clients,” Steve said. “His in-depth background in policy, strategic planning and financial forecasting will help address airport issues airports in North America and beyond.”
